Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Assets, to architect and evolve backend systems, platform services, and APIs using Python and related technologies. You will partner with data scientists to productionize AI/ML capabilities and ensure scalable, reliable backend infrastructure.

You will lead cross-team initiatives, mentor engineers, and shape engineering standards while delivering high-quality code.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including backend engineering and distributed systems at scale.
• Strong foundation in software design, development, and architectural patterns across multiple languages.
• Experience designing, building, and operating reliable distributed data-intensive services in production.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and evolve backend systems, platform services, and APIs using Python and related technologies.
• Partner with data scientists and ML engineers to productionize AI/ML capabilities.
• Design and scale distributed systems with high performance, availability, and operational excellence.
• Build secure, resilient data storage and governance-focused systems.
