Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale production-grade AI-powered financial products. This hands-on backend role focuses on platform development, AI integration, and distributed systems using TypeScript and Python.

You will work with leadership to design scalable services, APIs, data models, and observability, applying LLMs in real-world production environments and owning key engineering decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade applications.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Python for backend services.
• Experience designing scalable backend systems, APIs, and distributed architectures.
• Cloud platforms knowledge (AWS or GCP).
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into production applications.
• Experience with prompt engineering and applying AI to business problems.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, scalability, performance, reliability and security.
• Experience in fast-paced product environments with technical ownership.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services powering AI-driven financial products.
• Own decisions across system architecture, APIs, data models, performance, security and reliability.
• Build backend applications using TypeScript and Python; contribute to frontend with JavaScript as needed.
• Integrate LLMs and agentic AI capabilities into production software.
• Design and implement distributed, cloud-native systems with observability and operational excellence.
• Define engineering best practices around code quality, testing, deployment, and incident response.
• Collaborate with product, design, data, and engineering leadership to deliver customer-facing features.
• Utilize modern AI development tools to improve productivity and software quality.
