Naviant is a fully remote company seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to own reconciliations, journal entries, and close activities under supervision. The role will progressively take on payroll processing, sales tax support, and ARR rollforwards as training progresses.

Ideal candidates have hands-on general accounting experience, comfort with close deadlines, and a willingness to learn company-specific revenue accounting and automation tools.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and prepaids within established close deadlines.
• Understanding of GAAP and ability to investigate differences and follow up on items.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and provide backup for cash/accounts payable/receivable.
• Willingness to learn payroll procedures and handle US/Canadian payroll accounting entries.
• Experience with sales tax activities and use of Avalara for tax code updates.

Aufgaben

• Independently prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Complete monthly close activities and related reporting by deadlines.
• Support payroll processes; manage employee changes and deductions under supervision.
• Assist with sales tax activities and Avalara updates.
• Provide backup for routine cash, AP, and AR items.
