Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to ensure availability, performance, and reliability of large-scale distributed systems in production. This remote role places you at the interface of development and operations, with emphasis on automation and measurable reliability.

You will design SLOs/SLIs, lead incident response, build monitoring, and automate with Python/Go.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Ten or more years of SRE, DevOps, or production engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Java with automation focus.
• Deep Linux experience at scale including networking and troubleshooting.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and container workloads.
• Strong observability tooling knowledge (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/EFK).
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines for infra and apps.
• Understanding of distributed systems concepts and failure modes.
• Experience leading incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and refine SLOs/SLIs and error budgets for critical services.
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Design and implement monitoring, logging, tracing strategies.
• Build on-call processes, runbooks, and escalation paths.
• Automate operational toil with production-grade tooling (Python/Go/Bash).
• Architect and operate large Kubernetes clusters and workloads.
• Design CI/CD pipelines for reliable releases with testing and canaries.
• Partner with development teams to embed reliability early in design.
• Improve platform resiliency via chaos engineering and fault isolation.
• Drive security posture improvements with the security teams.
• Contribute to reliability tooling roadmaps and developer experience.
