Job summary
Ladders is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer III (DBA) to join a leader in the IT space. The role concentrates on reliability, performance, and scalability of production databases that support critical services, partnering with engineering and service owners to strengthen operations and automate away manual work.

Qualifications
- 6–8 years in site reliability engineering or similar roles with production database experience.
- Hands-on mastery of MySQL and distributed or sharded database systems.
- Experience with Vitess in production is strongly preferred.
- Administering NoSQL databases like Cassandra is required.
- Proficient in SQL with skills in query performance analysis and troubleshooting.
- Solid Linux systems administration skills.
- Familiarity with infrastructure management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage highly available database architecture for distributed and sharded database systems.
- Create operational procedures and runbooks for SRE teams.
- Optimize database performance through indexing and capacity planning.
- Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Monitor service health and collaborate on SLIs and SLOs with service owners.
- Develop automation tools to minimize manual tasks in database management.
- Lead Production Readiness Reviews for new database services.
