Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join a team responsible for the reliability of production systems running in AWS Commercial and AWS GovCloud. The role emphasizes ROSA/OpenShift, IaC, and observability across Linux and Windows environments.

The SRE will collaborate with platform engineering, security, and developers to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and scalable. The position is remote with a day shift (7am–3pm EST) and potential bonuses depending on contract terms.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years or 12+ years with HS.
• 7+ years hands-on SRE/DevOps/production systems experience.
• Experience with AWS, AWS GovCloud, and ROSA/OpenShift.
• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform/Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain production infrastructure for reliability, availability, and security.
• Monitor with SLIs/SLOs and observability dashboards; improve detection and resolution.
• Collaborate with platform/security/app teams to meet reliability requirements.
• Manage incidents, on-call response, root cause analysis, and post-incident actions.
• Release software via pipelines with staging/production promotion and rollbacks.
• Lifecycle management: upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and refreshes.
• Improve resilience via capacity planning, disaster recovery, and failover tests.
• Reduce reliability debt using metrics and incident trends.
• Automate tasks with code to boost consistency and efficiency.
• Partner with teams to improve reusable infrastructure building blocks.
