Job summary

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, seeks a Database Administrator to support a federal civilian customer. This remote role requires ability to obtain a Public Trust and will involve administering Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases in a production environment.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of database administration experience, strong SQL skills, and familiarity with data migration tasks as the program migrates to AWS. On-call rotation may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 4 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases.
• Proficiency writing SQL queries and troubleshooting routine database issues.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day administration of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, and patching.
• Monitor database health, performance, and job scheduling, escalating issues to senior DBAs as needed.
• Execute routine backup and recovery procedures and support periodic disaster recovery testing.
• Support database user access requests, role management, and security auditing per agency policy.
• Assist with data migration tasks related to cloud modernization and data center consolidation.
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for operational needs.
• Maintain documentation of database configurations, schedules, and SOPs.
• Respond to database incidents in ServiceNow and participate in root cause analysis.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours database support.
