Job summary

RegEd, Inc. is hiring a Database Administrator to deliver operational and application database services across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will own incidents, monitor health, backups, security, and performance, and work with Architecture and QA teams to drive improvements.

You should bring 3+ years of DBA experience, strong T‑SQL skills, and familiarity with Azure SQL services. This role offers a remote/hybrid work environment with competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of database administration, development, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or higher.
• Strong T-SQL skills including complex queries and stored procedures.
• Understanding of execution plans and query optimization techniques.
• Working knowledge of backup, recovery, and high-availability concepts.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL services (Azure SQL MI/DB/VMs).
• Experience with security administration and access controls.
• Ability to write and maintain SQL scripts and complex queries.
• Understanding of OLTP database principles and performance tuning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects in on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Monitor health, backups, index health, and daily alerts.
• Manage logins, users, roles, and access privileges.
• Plan and test backups, restores, and recovery procedures.
• Investigate database incidents and optimize performance.
• Develop efficient T‑SQL and indexing strategies.
• Refresh dev/test databases to support QA and development.
• Build monitoring infrastructure for visibility and alerts.
• Support code deployments and follow coding standards.
• Estimate effort for new or revised database systems.
