Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Sponsored Program Officer (SPO) in the ERIK Office of Sponsored Programs Administration to serve as the institutional business official for pre- and post-award management of externally funded grants and contracts. You will counsel PIs, review budgets, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance with sponsor and university requirements.

This remote-eligible role emphasizes collaboration across departments, timely proposal submissions, and accurate grant setup,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of administrative experience in a professional business capacity working in information management, compliance with policies and procedures, procurement, accounting, and/or financial management.
• Two years of customer service and problem-solving experience. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Advises PIs on submission of proposals to sponsoring agencies and negotiates terms.
• Enters new award information and communicates grant account details to PIs and staff.
• Provides expenditure approvals and coordinates post-award matters including closeout and reporting.
• Participates in university committees and builds relationships with stakeholders.
