Stride, Inc. invites passionate educators to join Virginia Virtual Academy (VAVA) as a fully remote Special Education Teacher.

You will deliver online course content, collaborate with families and learning coaches, manage IEPs, progress monitoring, and provide both synchronous and asynchronous instruction aimed at individualized student goals. The role requires a state teaching license, a bachelor’s degree, and the ability to attend in-person PDs and occasional events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and active state teaching license.
• Ability to clear required background check.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers to interpret data for instructional decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word; PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all special education services are provided per IEP.
• Communicate with parents and related service staff about therapies.
• Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and state documentation.
• Facilitate and lead collaborative IEP meetings.
• Utilize resources to provide accommodations and modifications.
• Travel up to 20% for PD, testing, and school events.
• Deliver engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
