Job summary

National Heritage Academies is seeking a Special Education Coordinator to support compliance and documentation across assigned schools. This field-based role coordinates with the Special Education Supervisor, reviews IEPs and timelines, and manages logistics for state-level reporting.

The position emphasizes monitoring trackers, gathering data, and ensuring site-level adherence to procedures, with travel as needed based on location within MI/OH/NC markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education and/or educational administration.
• 2-4 years in Special Education, Compliance, or school-based Special Education role.
• Candidates must reside in MI, OH, or NC to support NHA schools.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Lead Special Education Supervisor and provides support to assigned schools.
• Assists with documentation review for compliance (IEPs, timelines) under SE Supervisor direction.
• Drafts responses and gathers materials for state complaints or monitoring reviews.
• Coordinates logistics for meetings, corrective action plans, and follow-up documentation.
• Monitors compliance trackers and flags potential risks to SE Supervisor.
• Supports implementation of established systems and processes in schools.
• Collects and organizes data for SE Supervisor review and decision-making.
• Serves as operational support to reduce backflow and administrative burden.
• 80% remote work/20% travel required if the selected candidate resides outside of the West Michigan market.
• Additional duties as assigned.
