The role requires Minnesota licensure in special education or related certifications, 3+ years of educational leadership, and a strong track record with multi-categorical disabilities.

Qualifications

• Minnesota Director of Special Education licensure preferred.
• Minnesota teacher certification or Minnesota related service certification (social worker, speech language pathologist, etc) as applicable.
• 3+ years of Educational Leadership Experience
• Experience with multi-categorical disabilities across all grade levels
• Experience providing transitional skills and opportunities for students with disabilities
• Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products)
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Customer focused approach
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• High degree of flexibility
• Team player with demonstrated leadership skills
• Willingness to travel (overnight as needed) for events

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with special education due process requirements and staff caseloads
• Oversee due process timelines and records
• Provide due process guidance to special education teachers and serve as district representative at IEP meetings
• Coach and model to support implementation of academic and social/emotional/behavioral strategies
• Collaborate with leadership to evaluate staff and manage caseloads
• Organize interviews for prospective staff and collaborate on candidate selection
• Organize case managers to student caseloads and ensure balanced responsibilities
