Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a lead specialist to supervise and support its special education program in Manassas, VA. The role requires guiding staff, ensuring compliance with IDEA, and coordinating development for site and district teams.

You will work with students, parents, and educators to implement SPED processes with fidelity, maintain records, and analyze progress data to drive improvements. This exempt, on-site position reports to the supervisor of Procedural Support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must have or be eligible for Virginia SPED teaching license.
• Endorsement in Administration and Supervision preferred.
• Minimum 5 years SPED teaching experience.
• Strong knowledge of IDEA and related laws.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with peers, supervisors, and administrators.
• Respond to parent inquiries promptly.
• Provide leadership and guidance to SPED staff.
• Monitor operation of SPED programs.
• Ensure compliance with IDEA and state/federal regulations.
• Coordinate professional development for staff.
• Offer technical assistance, modeling, and feedback to teachers.
• Work with students, parents, and educators on SPED processes.
• Assist with SPED meetings and fidelity of processes.
• Serve as liaison between SPED department, school administration, parents, and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records for SPED programs.
• Analyze data to monitor progress and identify improvement areas.
• Serve as a resource for principals and staff on SPED practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
