Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Soninke-English interpreter to support real-time telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Soninke and English.
• 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration or government preferred).
• Strong knowledge of West African Soninke-speaking communities.
• Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and impartiality standards.
• US Citizenship or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time Soninke-English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
• Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration, legal, and asylum contexts.
• Maintain confidentiality under USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
• Manage both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge calls.
• Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and QA audits.
