Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring a Solutions Architect (SLG/EDU) to lead technical engagements for State and Local Government and Higher Education. This virtual Indiana-focused role collaborates with sales, engineering, and partners to design cloud architectures, respond to RFPs, and drive successful deployments.

You will present technical concepts, lead customer discussions, and share best practices across the AWS SA community. Travel up to 30% is required.

Qualifications

2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.

Responsibilities

Own the technical engagement and success around specific implementation projects on AWS.
Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs.
Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications are built on the AWS platform.
Lead training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers (e.g., Dev Days, Immersion Days).
Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS Solutions Architect community.
Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers.
Act as a technical liaison between customers, service teams and support.
