General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Solutions Architect to join the PACER Development team supporting AOUSC.

The role emphasizes end-to-end architecture, secure, scalable enterprise systems, and collaboration across developers, UI/UX designers, product managers, and QA engineers. Ideal candidates have extensive Java/J2EE, Linux (RHEL), RESTful services, and CI/CD automation experience, with strong enterprise security and governance understanding.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus at least 7+ years of enterprise-grade software development experience in a web-based environment.
Expert level Java developer experience.
Experience with Linux (Red Hat).
Some experience with Java Server Faces (JSF)/RichFaces.
Experience with RESTful web services.
Experience in Spring Framework.
Experience in automation of CI/CD pipelines.
SQL and data modeling with ORM tools such as Hibernate/JPA.
Architecting and operating cloud solutions.
Security requirements adaptability across enterprises.
On-premise to cloud migrations or IT transformations.
Cloud computing and Hybrid Cloud platforms.
DevOps/DevSecOps approaches.
Agile development experience.
Git or distributed source control experience.
Federal IT security guidelines and Section 508 accessibility knowledge.
Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

Define and own end-to-end application architecture aligned with business goals and standards.
Lead architectural reviews and establish best practices for development teams.
Evaluate emerging technologies and adoption strategies.
Design integration patterns between client apps and cloud-based back-end systems.
Build and optimize micro-services, RESTful APIs, and event-driven components.
Develop micro-frontend applications using modular UI composition or similar patterns.
Implement authentication and authorization frameworks (e.g., OAuth2.0, JWT).
Develop complex workflow systems leveraging cloud services and distributed architectures.
Write clean, testable code and lead code reviews.
Work with Java, JSF, PrimeFaces, JavaScript, CSS, Perl, and/or Linux shells.
Experience with DevOps tools (Jira, Confluence, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bash, SVN, JetBrains).
Integrate applications with cloud storage systems.
Collaborate with DevSecOps to implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Lead cross-functional teams including developers, UI/UX designers, product managers, and QA engineers.
Provide mentorship and architectural oversight.
Communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs to stakeholders.
Ensure security/compliance/governance adherence.
