Job summary

Municipal Credit Union is seeking a Solutions Architect to lead end-to-end architecture across applications, data, integrations, and cloud services. You will partner with stakeholders to design scalable, secure solutions for banking environments, driving modernization while aligning with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.

The role requires cloud-native experience (Azure/AWS), strong leadership, and experience delivering complex enterprise tech in financial services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Cloud-native design experience on Azure and/or AWS, including APIs, microservices, containers, and messaging.
• Excellent follow-through, member relations, and business judgment.
• Significant experience designing and delivering complex enterprise technology solutions across multiple systems.
• Proven modernization experience in financial-services environments.
• Experience in banking, credit unions, payments, lending, or regulated financial-services.
• Ability to analyze ambiguous problems, build options, and present recommendations clearly.
• Experience with APIs, event-driven or messaging patterns, data exchange, IAM, and system-to-system integration.
• Experience with DevOps toolset (Azure DevOps or similar).
• Analytical techniques and ability to influence technical/program leadership.
• Experience with architecture governance, standards, SDLC controls, and change management.
• Experience producing runbooks and operational documentation for handoffs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand objectives, processes, requirements, constraints, and outcomes.
• Develop end-to-end solution architectures with current-state and future-state views, context, and data flows.
• Evaluate options, risks, and implementations with clear trade-offs.
• Identify opportunities to simplify technology, reduce debt, and modernize legacy systems.
• Provide technical leadership during incident resolution and remediation planning.
• Communicate complex concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences, including senior leadership.
• Match technical solutions to operational and business issues.
• Coordinate development, analysis, and implementation of end-to-end solutions.
• Troubleshoot across systems and teams; identify alternative solutions and mitigations.
• Collaborate with Dev, Infra, Cloud, Data, Security, and QA teams; support vendor evaluations.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and regulatory requirements; recommend adoption where beneficial.
• Document architecture decisions and implementation guidance per governance and SDLC.
• Build relationships with team members and subject matter experts.
