Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Solution Architect to support the HTMS team for the Department of Veterans Affairs. This remote, US-only role emphasizes architecture development, data interoperability, and program management across healthcare IT environments.

The candidate will document current architectures, develop future state designs, and lead advisory conversations with diverse stakeholders while maintaining strict deadlines in a dynamic government setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, systems, business or related field.
• 15+ years related experience and strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Healthcare or Healthcare Insurance environments.
• Ability to meet deadlines, including short-notice requests.
• Excellent communicator with ability to build collaborative relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop holistic view of current IT architecture and modernization plans.
• Build advisory relationships with the client and stakeholder teams.
• Create roadmaps and runways aligned with organizational strategy.
• Interface with users to determine needs and track technical data.
• Support intake processes for new work and change requests.
• Leverage GovCIO resources across programs and monitor directives.
• Propose architectural solutions in various technical environments.
• Architect complex systems of systems with reusable components.
