Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Junior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join the BASIS program in a remote capacity. You will develop and execute automated test scripts for unit to end-to-end testing, support documentation, and defect tracking while aligning with Agile sprint schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, software engineering, information technology, or related field, or 4 years of equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Foundational understanding of test automation and scripting in at least one framework.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps.
• Basic experience with defect tracking tools, preferably JIRA.
• Understanding of the software testing lifecycle (unit to UAT).
• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document test activities clearly.
• Ability to collaborate with developers, senior engineers, and Government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute automated test scripts for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Support test documentation and defect tracking; contribute to quality standards across deployment pipeline.
• Support Test-Driven Development by writing test cases with developers.
• Triages defects in JIRA and assists with escalation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and maintain sprint defect metrics.
• Conduct accessibility testing per Section 508 / WCAG 2.0 Level AA.
• Coordinate performance testing and IV&V activities as required.
• Ensure tests are executable by end of each sprint and prepared for pipeline integration.
