Job summary

Peraton is seeking a motivated Software Quality Assurance Engineer to support QA and test automation on the BASIS program. Working under senior QA engineers, the Junior QA Engineer will contribute to the automation-first QA mandate and ensure quality across the deployment pipeline.

The selected candidate will develop and execute automated test scripts, support test documentation, assist in defect tracking, and contribute to rigorous quality standards across the program. This is a remote position.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of test automation principles and experience writing automated test scripts.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps principles.
• Basic experience with defect tracking tools, preferably JIRA.
• Understanding of the software testing lifecycle including unit/integration/regression/UA testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Ensure automated tests are ready for the DevSecOps pipeline and Agile sprints.
• Support Test-Driven Development by writing tests before coding with developers.
• Triage and track defects in JIRA and assist with escalation when needed.
• Contribute to accessibility, performance, and environmental testing activities.
