Job summary

micro1 is seeking a Workflow Annotator — Software Engineering to design and author multi-step task scenarios that reflect real software engineering activities. You will execute workflows in real tools, capture decisions, and document outcomes with artifacts to support AI training.

Remote contractor role emphasizing clear written documentation, collaboration across Slack and MS 365/Google Workspace, and an eye for edge cases. Prior QA/documentation experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of software engineering experience with daily GitHub workflows.
• Strong written English with clarity in documenting processes.
• Familiar with Slack and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
• Experience designing or participating in code review, versioning, branching, or release workflows.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or documentation systems is an advantage.
• Basic SQL skills (preferably Snowflake) are a plus.
• Prior experience with data annotation or QA documentation is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Design and author multi-step task scenarios reflecting authentic software engineering activities.
• Execute and document each workflow in real time using actual tools, capturing steps and rationale.
• Integrate collaboration tools (Slack, MS 365/Google Workspace, Snowflake) for end-to-end scenarios.
• Produce clear, structured documentation including sequencing, outcomes, and visual artifacts.
• Flag ambiguous or unrealistic scenarios and refine workflows based on feedback.
