Job summary

Capital District Physicians Health Plan Inc (CDPHP) is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute across the Software Development Life Cycle. The role involves coding, testing, and collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams to communicate project status and proposals.

Levels I–IV progressively expand responsibilities, from writing code and supporting processes to mentoring and shaping organizational standards. A mix of learning, collaboration and on-call duties is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in computer science, information technology or related field; three years' experience if no degree.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C#/.NET, Java, SQL, C++, Python or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with tools/platforms Informatica, CI/CD, Pega, Power BI or Cognos.
• Understanding of Unix-based or Windows OS; basic database experience.
• Knowledge of software testing and quality, good communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develops code, analyzes, researches, and resolves system issues.
• Participates in on-call production support rotation.
• Supports IT processes, documentation, and code reviews.
• Collaborates with teams to understand requirements and impacts.
• Contributes to design, planning and standardization efforts.
