ShipBob is hiring a Software Development Engineer II to develop production-level software in close coordination with Product Owners and the Manager. The role emphasizes delivering features from design to implementation and owning testing and performance planning.

You will become a go-to expert in areas of the codebase, break work into milestones, and drive timely delivery in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Remote work across US is supported with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work quickly and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of owning small-to-medium sized features from design to implementation.
• Experience with C#, SQL, and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Become the go-to expert in a specific area of the codebase and understand its architecture.
• Scope and stage work into milestones to avoid monolithic deliverables.
• Deliver software on time with accurate estimates and consistency.
• Own the technical testing and performance planning for your work.
• Coordinate solutions for important problems, including cross-cutting technical issues.
• Address technical debt proactively before it requires remediation.
• Balance technical, analytical, and product needs to generate holistic solutions.
• Propose strategies for technical challenges and secure team buy-in.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
