ShipBob is hiring a Software Development Engineer II to develop production-level software in close coordination with Product Owners and the Manager. The role emphasizes delivering features from design to implementation and owning testing and performance planning.

You will become a go-to expert in areas of the codebase, break work into milestones, and drive timely delivery in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Remote work across US is supported with competitive compensation.

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work quickly and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of owning small-to-medium sized features from design to implementation.
• Experience with C#, SQL, and JavaScript.

Role Description

Software Development Engineer II – responsible for developing production‑level software in coordination with the team, working closely with Product Owners and the Manager.

What You’ll Do

• Become the go‑to expert in a specific area of the codebase and understand its overall architecture.
• Scope and stage work into well‑defined milestones to avoid monolithic deliverables.
• Deliver software on time, maintaining accurate estimates and meeting them consistently.
• Own the technical testing and performance planning for your work.
• Initiate and coordinate solutions for important problems, including cross‑cutting technical issues.
• Identify and address technical debt proactively before it requires significant remediation.
• Balance technical, analytical, and product needs to generate holistic solutions.
• Propose strategies for technical challenges, communicate standards, and secure team buy‑in.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

Compensation

Salary range: $102,206 – $170,344. Role includes eligibility for the Company’s discretionary bonus plan.
