Ladders is seeking a Software Engineer II to join a team building customer-facing software spanning backend services, APIs, and web apps, with a focus on reliable delivery from design to production.

You will shape AI-enabled features and internal tooling that improve safety workflows, product insights, and engineering efficiency, and you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, maintainable systems and strong customer experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with customer-facing production systems.
• Strong programming fundamentals in Golang, Java, or Python.
• Experience developing features across backend services, APIs, and web applications.
• Interest in AI-native development, including LLM integration and agentic workflows.
• Ability to independently manage moderately complex projects and communicate effectively.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and a growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own customer-facing features from design to production, including AI prototypes.
• Architect and deliver full-stack products using Golang and React.
• Integrate LLMs into safety workflows and develop agent tooling.
• Design evaluations and feedback loops to enhance product insights.
• Utilize AI coding tools to streamline development processes.
• Make technical tradeoffs considering speed, maintainability, and customer impact.
• Ensure operational health and scalability of production systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create cohesive customer experiences.
