Job summary

Block, Inc. – Cash App's parent – is hiring a software engineer for the Issuing server team, building the card issuance platform and related services. You will design, develop, test, and operate features powering Cash App Card and other card programs at scale.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, collaboration, and AI-enabled tooling to improve velocity and quality, with on-call responsibilities and a focus on secure, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development or equivalent experience.
• Experience building production software systems end-to-end.
• Ability to design, build, test, ship, and operate features with guidance.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated AI fluency and experience with AI-powered tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, ship, and maintain features across card issuance and processing.
• Contribute to reliable, scalable microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of features from design to operation.
• Participate in on-call and incident response for tier-0 systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and partner disciplines to deliver quality software.
