Job summary

Opus Inspection, Inc. is seeking a Manager – Software Development to lead a distributed team of software engineers across the U.S. This role focuses on people management, process improvement, and project oversight, with occasional code contribution.

You will align with product owners, QA, and other managers, drive planning activities, and recruit new team members, while delivering software solutions across platforms and environments.

Qualifications

• Experience managing software development teams and building a high-performance environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC.
• Technical background in software development (.NET, SQL, cloud).
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and project tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a distributed team of Software Developers with performance management, career development, and coaching.
• Facilitate planning activities (iteration planning, release planning, quarterly planning) and ensure team commitments are tracked and met.
• Maintain visibility into team workload, specific assignments, and project status; provide regular updates to senior leadership.
• Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to the evolution of development workflows and standards
• Ensure consistent application of software development practices across the team.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, and other Software Development Managers to ensure solution alignment and timely delivery.
• Recruit for open positions and onboard new team members.
• Encourage knowledge sharing and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Provide technical guidance when needed; ability to contribute to codebase is a plus.
