Job summary

Octave is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead multiple software development teams and drive delivery of enterprise software solutions. You will coordinate with Product, QA, and Operations to plan releases, remove blockers, and guide technical architecture.

You will mentor engineers, champion Agile practices, and ensure scalable, secure, and reliable multi-tenant cloud applications across geographically distributed teams, including a remote-friendly setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience managing software development teams with delivery ownership.
• Experience with multiple teams in parallel and Agile software delivery.
• Strong understanding of Scrum, release planning, sprint planning, and backlog refinement.
• Experience coordinating with Product and QA leadership on quality and releases.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead developers, technical leads, and other engineering team members.
• Act as project and delivery manager for assigned software projects and product initiatives.
• Plan, execute, monitor, and control work for software development teams.
• Ensure teams are enabled and delivering predictably.
• Drive Agile evolution, Scrum practices, delivery cadence, and cross-team coordination.
• Coordinate with Product on release planning, backlog prioritization, and dependency management.
• Manage team capacity, resource allocation, and workload balance.
• Provide technical leadership for enterprise software initiatives.
• Support high-level design of scalable, secure, and reliable architecture.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members to improve performance.
