Job summary

You will collaborate with researchers, designers, and engineers to build scalable web apps, APIs, and visualizations, contributing to open-source code and community resources.

Qualifications

• Two years of post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
• 1–3 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with cloud deployments.
• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools.
• Background in genomics or bioinformatics data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web-based software for biomedical data discovery and visualization.
• Participate in the full software development life cycle across multiple projects.
• Identify, triage, and resolve bugs and performance bottlenecks across browsers.
• Write tests and documentation; maintain open-source code.
• Participate in code reviews and iterative product development.
• Contribute to tools for metadata management; containerize workflows with Docker.
• Deploy and monitor cloud-based services supporting lab portals.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate scientific needs into features.
• Contribute to publications and technical reports.
