Job summary

Communities-Unlimited,-Inc. is seeking a Small Business Consultant to provide one-on-one management and business skills consulting to startups and existing small businesses across our seven-state service area, with emphasis in the Mississippi region.

The role focuses on cash flow, pricing, hiring, record-keeping, and loan readiness. The ideal candidate will have owned or run a small business, and will work with entrepreneurs, primarily in rural and underserved communities, to build business

Qualifications

Master’s degree in business, management, finance, administration, or related field plus 1 year of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, finance, administration, or related field plus 5 years of relevant experience.
Strong facilitation, writing, and communication skills; comfort with everyday business software.

Responsibilities

Conduct financial and operational assessments for small business clients and identify growth challenges.
Develop scopes of services, financial projections, and actionable plans while delivering consulting and financial literacy education.
Analyze financial data, including ratio analysis, to support decision-making and guide clients toward growth.
Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, business owners, and partners; promote economic development resources.
Maintain accurate client documentation, reporting, timekeeping, and communication; support team collaboration and training.
