Job summary

Missouri Southern State University invites applications for a Small Business Development Center Consultant. The role provides confidential, no-cost counseling and training to local entrepreneurs and helps grow startups and existing businesses in the region.

Responsibilities include delivering trainings, building partnerships with chambers of commerce and economic development groups, and supporting MSSU’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• EDFP certification or ability to obtain.
• Transformational Coaching Credential or ability to obtain.
• Minimum of five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet insurance requirements for driving University vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultative services to small businesses and builds relationships with owners and managers.
• Assists in achieving SBA and MSSU SBDC goals including job creation, loans and investments secured, increased sales, and reporting to the MSSU SBDC.
• Develops and administers training programs and coordinates seminars to meet needs of regional small businesses.
• Identifies prospective participants, coordinates facilities and materials, and represents the MSSBDC during training.
• Markets and promotes the Missouri SBDC services through presentations, media appearances, and collaborations with local leaders.
• Establishes partnerships with local economic development organizations and stakeholders for regional impact.
• Contributes to professional development and continuous knowledge improvement.
