Job summary

Red Hat is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to develop and implement code and scripts that ensure reliability and scalability of services within established parameters. This telecommuting role can be performed anywhere in the United States.

You will participate in code reviews, collaborate with the team, manage on-call rotations, handle incident response and postmortems, and assist in resolving customer issues escalated from support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 2 years of experience in this or a related role, or a Master's degree.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience with Agile or Scrum processes.
• Proficiency in Python; experience managing Linux-based systems in a public cloud.

Responsibilities

• Participate in routine code reviews and testing to maintain code quality.
• Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and support continuous improvement.
• Engage in regular on-call rotation to respond to service incidents during shifts.
• Deliver incident response and postmortem processes to document issues.
• Assist in resolving customer issues escalated from support teams.
• Contribute to development and enhancement of SRE software and tools to support team goals.
