Job summary

Octave is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to help build and support platforms powering our cloud services. You will work with development, architecture, security, and operations teams to improve reliability, observability, and incident response across Azure-based environments.

You will design and maintain deployment pipelines, manage AKS or container apps, implement SLOs/SLIs, and contribute to blameless post-incident reviews while driving continuous improvement and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of SRE concepts and practices.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools.
• Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform/OpenTofu/Scalr.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell or Python.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and optimise deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Identify, analyse and resolve weaknesses, driving reliability improvements.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell and Azure PowerShell scripts.
• Collaborate to promote SRE practices and improve observability and incident management.
• Deploy and support multi-tier Azure environments using OpenTofu.
• Maintain engineering tooling for delivery, monitoring and service management.
• Support testing, validation and deployment of new platform capabilities.
• Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations and post-incident reviews.
• Ensure cloud infra is secure, resilient and compliant.
• Manage production deployments for Azure App Services with blue/green releases.
• Deploy, scale and manage containerised microservices via AKS or Azure Container Apps.
• Configure and maintain Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights for SLIs/SLOs.
