Job summary

Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking a Server Architect to define and maintain enterprise server standards, and to partner with engineering, services, and facilities to deliver scalable compute solutions. You will influence technology choices to support engineering workloads and sustainable data-center operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with vendors, performing POCs and platform validations, and ensuring efficient, future-ready compute across DI SW development environments.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on expertise in server and compute hardware architectures (CPU, memory, storage, accelerators, interconnects).
• Strong understanding of compute platforms supporting scientific, engineering, and software development workloads.
• Experience with enterprise data center environments, including power and cooling considerations.
• Proven ability to evaluate emerging technologies and translate them into practical architectural recommendations.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, engaging engineering teams, operations, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise server architecture standards and reference designs.
• Evaluate compute technologies for engineering, simulation, build, CI/CD workloads.
• Align server decisions with broader infrastructure strategies.
• Collaborate with software teams to understand workloads and future compute needs.
• Lead or support hardware POCs, technology evaluations, and platform validations.
• Support procurement and lab logistics, including quotes and vendor assessments.
• Contribute to capacity planning and utilization reporting.
