Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows developer to lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and XAML.

You will ensure performance, accessibility, and cross-version compatibility while collaborating with product designers, QA, and engineers to shape the Windows platform roadmap.

This role offers ownership of features from conception through release, with opportunities to mentor others and influence the product vision.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI or similar, C#, XAML; native code experience a plus.
• Deep understanding of Windows application architecture and interop between managed (.NET) and native code.
• Proven track record designing, building, and shipping production desktop apps with focus on reliability and performance.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows and building inclusive software.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, multi-threading.
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• User-centric mindset focused on polished, intuitive, accessible experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK and WinUI.
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts: UI Automation, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and inclusivity.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and roadmap.
• Own full lifecycle of features: conception to release and maintenance.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and compatibility issues.
