Job summary

AvonRisk in Texas invites an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster III to lead the most complex, high-exposure claims with expert guidance and senior support. You will mentor junior adjusters, coordinate medical management and litigation strategies, and partner with clients and carriers to protect interests while maintaining professional service.

Qualifications

• 7+ years WC claims experience with independent indemnity management; or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years indemnity experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of public entity liability claims including JPAs, self-insured programs, and pooled arrangements.
• Active Texas Worker's Comp license; multi-state license preferred.
• Professional designations such as AIC, ARM, WCCP, or CPCU a plus.
• Deep expertise in Texas WC statutes; multi-jurisdiction experience valued.
• Direct experience with claims administration platforms used in WC/insurance; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Complex Claims Investigation & Compensability: three-point contact on new losses; plan action for high-exposure cases.
• Identify fraud indicators and refer to SIU; document facts on complex files.
• Medical Management, RTW & Vocational Rehab: lead medical management on catastrophic claims and coordinate life care planning.
• Permanent Disability, Reserving & Financial Stewardship: lead PD rating on complex cases; establish and adjust reserves.
• Litigation Management: direct full litigation processes for complex files; select counsel; manage spend; lead mediations and settlements.
• Settlements, Lien Resolution & Recovery: negotiate high-value settlements; manage multi-lien resolution and pursue subrogation.
