Job summary

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead high-voltage transmission projects, performing detailed design and modeling with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE. You will develop routing, profiles, structure loading, and sag-tension calculations while mentoring junior engineers.

The role supports full lifecycle execution, interfaces with utility clients, and requires a California PE license with 7–15+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• 7-15+ years of transmission line engineering experience.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Strong experience with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Experience with 69kV+ transmission systems.
• Ability to lead technical efforts while remaining hands-on.
• Experience in utility or EPC transmission engineering environments.
• Engineer of Record experience preferred.
• Reconductoring or maintenance program experience preferred.
• Experience with large utilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission line engineering efforts across multiple utility projects.
• Perform detailed design and modeling using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Develop routing, profiles, structure loading, and sag-tension calculations.
• Review and oversee construction packages and design documentation.
• Ensure compliance with client standards and industry codes (e.g., NESC).
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and substation teams.
• Support construction and field activities as needed.
• Identify technical risks and provide mitigation solutions.
• Support full lifecycle project execution from concept through delivery.
• Interface with utility clients and participate in technical reviews.
