Job summary

Astra is hiring a Senior Transaction Monitoring Analyst to design, implement, and optimize transaction monitoring across ACH, RTP, and other rails. You’ll analyze activity, investigate escalated alerts, and prepare suspicious activity referrals in collaboration with the Head of Compliance.

This remote-first role is based in the United States, requiring strong BSA/AML expertise and hands-on rule tuning. You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to strengthen monitoring programs and

Qualifications

• 4+ years in BSA/AML, financial crimes compliance, or transaction monitoring within fintech, payments, or banking.
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and tuning monitoring rules — not just reviewing alerts.
• Proven track record conducting complex investigations and escalating suspicious activity.
• Strong knowledge of BSA/AML requirements, typologies, and risk-based monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain monitoring rules across ACH, RTP, FedNow, debit networks, and other rails.
• Investigate potentially suspicious transactions and document findings with clear narratives.
• Submit suspicious activity referrals to sponsor banks and coordinate with the Head of Compliance.
• Respond to sponsor-bank information requests and support follow-up reviews.
• Track alert volumes, backlogs, and case aging to keep operations timely.
