Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Technology Services seeks a Senior Telecommunications Analyst to provide advanced operational, technical, and implementation support for enterprise voice, UC, and CCaaS across VCU and VCU Health System.

The role involves leading modernization efforts, collaborating with IT and clinical teams, and supporting a 24x7 on-call rotation. A strong background in cloud voice platforms and CCaaS is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent
• Experience in consultative technical role with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience administering and supporting enterprise voice telecommunications environments, including cloud-based voice platforms, SIP, VoIP, and CC technologies
• Experience migrating from legacy/on-premises voice platforms and supporting hybrid environments
• Ability to lead technical analysis, solution design, and implementation for CCaaS modernization
• Strong understanding of telecom infrastructure, protocols, and multi-location call routing
• Proficiency with reporting, documentation, communication, scheduling, and data analysis tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced operational, technical, and implementation support for enterprise telecommunications services
• Serve as a senior technical resource for voice, unified communications, and contact center
• Collaborate with IT teams, departments, vendors, and stakeholders to design and implement solutions
• Lead modernization initiatives for CCaaS and enterprise voice
• Ensure services are resilient, scalable, and customer-focused across the enterprise
• Participate in on-call and occasional on-site meetings as needed
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures
