Job summary

Foley Hoag LLP is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to design, implement, and optimize the firm\'s core compute and storage infrastructure, including Active Directory, Exchange, and remote access.

The role requires extensive VMware, Windows and Linux expertise, cloud administration, on‑call support, and strong security practices. Remote‑eligible with cross‑team collaboration; US residence required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years as a Systems Engineer in enterprise environments.
Extensive virtualization experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter.
Experience with Nutanix, VxRail, and other HCI platforms.
Strong enterprise storage knowledge (SCSI/NVMe, CIFS/NFS, S3).
Proven backup/recovery experience (Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam).
Active Directory, M365, PKI design and administration.
PowerShell scripting and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Splunk).

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage core systems including compute, networks, storage, AD, and security.
Administer cloud platforms such as Azure, Office 365, and AWS.
Manage Citrix VDI, load balancers, and SSL certificate management.
Monitor and optimize system performance for reliability and security.
Perform scheduled maintenance and on‑call support.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and change records.
Support on-call rotations and occasional overtime/travel as needed.
Ensure integrations meet security and governance standards.
