BILL is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer in Risk Engineering to drive real‑time risk decisioning, onboarding compliance, and access control platforms. You will shape the technical vision, collaborate across product, data science, compliance, and infrastructure, and deliver secure, low‑latency systems for fintech customers.

You will work on real‑time decisioning engines, privilege access management, and cloud security, partnering with AWS teams to harden the environment and accelerate

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in fintech or financial services.
• Deep expertise designing distributed, high‑availability, low‑latency systems.
• Hands‑on experience with RBAC and privileged access management at scale.
• Experience deploying in AWS and implementing cloud security controls.
• Proven track record leading large technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own risk and onboarding platform services with real‑time decisioning.
• Define a technical roadmap for risk and access control infrastructure.
• Partner with AWS and security teams to enforce security‑by‑default.
• Collaborate with data science to operationalise ML models for risk scoring.
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of cross‑functional risk initiatives.
