Airbnb seeks a Principal or Senior Staff Engineer to architect and implement advanced ML systems, including recommendation engines, ranking, intent detection, and LLM-powered experiences. You will lead ML, data and product engineers to bring high-impact ML applications from concept to production.

You will mentor teams, elevate AI/ML capabilities across the organization, and drive transformative initiatives in Messaging and Notifications that enhance guest and host experiences.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in a Principal/Senior Staff Engineer role owning large-scale systems.
• Background in designing and developing scalable AI/ML systems and services with a passion for ML-powered products.
• Builder mindset with proactivity, curiosity and strong communication.
