Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a senior leader in ML/AI to drive cross-functional alignment and shape multi-year technical roadmaps for data, AI, and product initiatives. You will mentor managers across ML, data engineering, and software engineering, partnering with Product, Design, and Data Science to deliver high-impact, production-ready ML systems.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration across teams to impact Airbnb's core experiences for guests and hosts.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years managing a team in a fast-paced tech environment.
• BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience building, leading, and architecting full-stack products and systems at enterprise scale with a great impact.
• Experience in applying modern artificial intelligence technologies to products and development cycles.
• Technical leadership: hands-on experience leading project teams, setting technical direction and strategy, and working cross functionally with Product and Data Science teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive alignment across engineering, product, and leadership on AI investment priorities and set the multi-year technical roadmap.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science to take high-impact ML initiatives from concept to production.
• Define and own success metrics that tie ML work directly to business outcomes.
• Grow and mentor a team of ML/Data engineers, raising the technical bar across the org.
• Lead a senior team of Managers and Engineers across Machine Learning, Data Engineering and Software Engineering.
