Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Microsoft SQL Server Database Lead to design, implement, and support mission-critical databases in AWS EC2 and RDS. The Senior DBA will mentor staff, consult with customer stakeholders, and ensure security and compliance while meeting performance and availability objectives.

Location: Remote. You will drive HA/DR, encryption, patching, and CI/CD integration with GitLab and Liquibase, using PowerShell/Python for automation and monitoring.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain clearance.
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or 12 years with HS.
Minimum 7 years of production Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience.
Experience with AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Redshift.
Strong knowledge of Always On, maintenance plans, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, installation, configuration, and optimization of SQL Server in AWS.
Architect high availability and disaster recovery solutions (AG, WFC, replication).
Automate database tasks; support CI/CD with GitLab and Liquibase.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and risk mitigation.
