GovCIO is hiring a Senior Solutions Architect to design and implement scalable, secure provisioning solutions for the VA Data Modernization initiative. The role focuses on automated onboarding, workspace provisioning, and Databricks integration across PreProd and Production environments in a fully remote US setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field with 15+ years of experience.
• Must hold Computing Environment certification (AWS, Microsoft, Linux, etc.).
• Knowledge of DOD RMF and/or NIST security policies.
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, VPN).
• Proficient in automation and scripting (Python, Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with virtual/cloud servers and applications.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Awareness of regulatory compliance and onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

• Architect and pre-create workspaces with common tools for rapid onboarding.
• Map users to workspace configurations via the intake process.
• Implement automated provisioning to grant CDW access to authorized users.
• Create workspaces in PreProd/Production with service principals and access controls.
• Design secure data connections within Databricks for the VA data lake.
• Maintain Databricks catalogs for governance and analytics.
• Collaborate to integrate provisioning into automated intake and review.
• Ensure alignment with data modernization deliverables and provisioning.
• Coordinate with Databricks, platform, and security teams for VA standards.
• Troubleshoot access, connectivity, service principals, and pipelines.
• Document architectural patterns for the single front door experience.
• Identify blockers and propose scalable provisioning solutions.
• Support surge requests for scaling data access and ingestion.
