Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on the Stablecoin team to build and scale CCS, enabling partners to launch branded USDC-backed stablecoins on Coinbase's infrastructure. This role blends backend services with onchain development, owning issuance, reserves, minting, burning, and rewards distribution for a fast-growing roster of partners.

You'll ship features quarterly, drive architectural decisions with security and performance in mind, and write high-quality, tested code while

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering, building and operating production backend services.
• Experience writing, testing, and deploying smart contracts (Solidity or similar).
• Ability to design services end-to-end and scale architectures.
• Knowledge of on-chain security, audits, upgrades, and key management.
• Familiarity with Ethereum-style ecosystems; DeFi/stablecoins preferred.
• Responsible AI usage with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve smart contracts that mint, burn, and safeguard stablecoin supply.
• Build backend services for onboarding, issuance, reserve accounting, and rewards.
• Collaborate with product/design to ship quarterly roadmap features.
• Drive architectural decisions balancing security, scale, and delivery speed.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and raise operational excellence.
