SimSpace Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the internet simulation platform from a remote location in the USA. You will design kernel-level eBPF-based routing, ensure realistic ASN topology and traceroute fidelity across a global topology, and work without deploying real routers.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Linux kernel networking and eBPF program development, including XDP, TC hooks, BPF map types, and kernel-space packet processing.
• Strong systems programming skills in C/Rust for eBPF and Go/Python for control-plane tooling.
• Solid understanding of real-world internet routing, ASN topology, CIDR allocation, and inter-AS peering.
• Experience with designing distributed systems with intermittent connectivity to a central controller.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to drive architecture across a team.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes as deployment environment for services and agents.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture of the eBPF-based routing simulation layer, including XDP and TC hook design, BPF map structure, and traceroute fidelity.
• Design and build the control-plane topology database and pipeline for real-world topology data.
• Architect the in-range proxy agent that bridges the control plane to cyber ranges and handles DNS delegation.
• Define interface contracts between control plane and agents, including topology updates and graceful degradation.
• Serve as technical lead, making architectural decisions and maintaining engineering quality across the team.
• Mentor engineers in systems design, kernel debugging, and engineering rigor.
