Job summary

The SAS US Government & Public Sector team seeks a Senior Software Developer – HIE Production Support (Healthcare Interoperability) for a remote role. You will sustain, enhance, and remediate a large scale Health Information Exchange platform in a 24x7 production environment.

You will own production support and engineering tasks, conduct RCA, implement code fixes, and guide design decisions for HL7, FHIR, CDA interfaces, HealthShare components, and data quality initiatives while collaborating

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
8+ years hands-on software development experience including production systems.
Advanced experience with Intersystems HealthShare Ecosystem.
Strong experience developing and supporting healthcare interfaces using HL7, FHIR, CDA, IHE, X12.
Proficient in SQL, APIs, JavaScript, and ObjectScript with production support exposure.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences and work with customers.

Responsibilities

Provide 24x7 LIVE HIE production support, ensuring availability, performance, and data integrity.
Perform RCAs for incidents and lead remediation through code fixes and config changes.
Troubleshoot complex issues across interfaces and integrations with minimal impact.
Design, develop, test, and maintain components for healthcare data ingestion and exchange.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into robust software solutions.
