Job summary

Netflix seeks a senior software engineer to design and scale systems powering a global finance and tax technology stack. This remote role within the United States requires independence on large, ambiguous problems across the full stack, partnering with finance, tax, and accounting teams.

You will design, build, and operate services for financial close, tax compliance, and reporting, translate regulatory needs into reliable software, and improve reliability and observability while mentoring peers

Qualifications

• Several years of professional software engineering experience building production systems at scale.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and comfort across distributed systems, data pipelines, and APIs.
• Experience integrating with ERP, tax engines, or financial data systems is a strong plus.
• Track record of leading complex, multi-quarter projects with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate services and platforms supporting financial close, tax compliance, and reporting workflows.
• Partner with finance and tax subject-matter experts to translate regulatory and operational requirements into reliable software.
• Improve reliability, observability, and developer experience for the finance and tax technology portfolio.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering standards that influence adjacent teams.
• Mentor other engineers and participate in code review, design review, and incident response.
