Job summary

Extend seeks a Senior Analytics Engineer for Financial Systems Engineering. This remote role focuses on end-to-end data that spans invoicing, claims, and financial reporting, ensuring traceability from merchant data to accounting.

You’ll own dbt models, write robust SQL, and automate controls with strong collaboration with engineers and accountants. You will drive root-cause analysis, reconcile across systems, and support internal/external audits.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years in analytics or data engineering with dbt, version control, testing and PRs.
• Strong SQL against large financial datasets and ability to trace models to business intent.
• Reconciliation and source of truth expertise across multiple systems.
• Comfort with financial data and understanding of invoicing, revenue, and expenses.
• APIs familiarity for investigating and correcting operational data.
• Clear written communication to accountants and stakeholders.
• Bias toward root cause analysis and automation to prevent recurrence.
• Comfort working with ambiguous goals and shaping execution.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain invoicing and reimbursement logic across contracts and claims.
• Reconcile data across inbound merchant data, operational databases, warehouse, and accounting.
• Drive variances to root cause and establish data truth across systems.
• Build and maintain financial models in dbt with tests and documentation.
• Triage reported data issues, quantify impact, and track fixes.
• Validate expenses against payments and extend automation across paths.
• Collaborate with merchant configuration teams and audits.
